Born in Tuscany in 1991, Niko grew up in the blacksmithing tradition, learning time-honored techniques passed down by his father, Roberto Giordani, an internationally acclaimed sculptor and blacksmith. Working alongside his father from a very young age, he came to view metal as a malleable medium to be shaped into permanent, enduring forms. Upon turning eighteen, Niko began his research and experimentation, focusing primarily on Mokume Gane. This ancient Japanese technique involves layering and fusing sheets of various precious and non-ferrous metals, such as silver, gold, copper, brass, titanium, and zirconium, under high pressure and temperature without the use of industrial solder. Through this complex process, he brings out organic, wood-grain patterns from within the metals, which he then uses to compose his artistic creations
